Natron is an open-source – crossplatform – nodal – compositing software for OS X, LINUX and WINDOWS.
It supports OpenFX plugins and have many nice other features.
I believe there can never be too many software applications to be aware of that could improve and extend your art creation.
This one might become a very valuable application to all Carrara animators. If you are in the needs for a compositing software to add some extra visuals to your Carrara rendered animations there is a very promising project in active development.
SGO, the developers of amazing and high end industry approved post production software Mistika, presented a new tool for everyone in the needs for a high end composting application. Built on top of Mistika’s technology here is Mamba FX.
ScifiFunk discusses “kit-bashing” to transfer one figure’s rigging, to a decimated (low poly) figure that has been merged with clothing props (exported as OBJ), and prepped by stripping out details that don’t show at a distance. The final figure is far more efficient on system resources and suitable for crowd scenes, but accepts motion capture created for the original (BVH files transferred from DAZ Studio by aniBlock).
