Hi.
Pret-a-3D is contemplating the development of Reality for Carrara. Since this would be our first plug-in for Carrara we don’t have past experiences to let us understand the size and response of this market. Please let us know your interest in this plug-in so that we can determine if developing would be commercially feasible.
If you want to have such new render engine for Carrara, please vote a big YES here:

PS.: the theme is just a coincidence…you are living CarraraCafe to vote!
I’m always down with advancing Carrara. Price would be a factor.
I think there is a big market for this – Carrara has a lot of ‘silent’ users that don’t participate in the Daz forums, but they are ready for any advancement made to Carrara.
I vote for a Reality plugin for Carrara!
It would be great to have a render choice.
Though I don’t really see the advantage of the Reality render engine as opposed to Carrara’s native engine by the sheer renders I’ve seen from it, I’m all for advancment of the Carrara platform.
True, there’s no metrics on this as it hasn’t been done before, but part of doing business is taking risks. No business has been made sucessuful by not taking risks.
I don’t see also the advantage of the Reality render engine, not to mention the not really advanced material room, Reality is good for the regular simple software , I really don’t see the point of doing that at all from what I saw and tested. And what you can do using Reality u can do better and faster with Carrara already , beside there would be something really special what Carrara don’t have on this moment, and to tell you the truth the material room in Reality turned me really off, it is very much primitive , and you can’t do much with that, plus the standard materials are not rendered as they supposed to do.
Thank you for posting the link to the Survey.
I think I have to agree with Mec4d on this one. I really don’t see the advantage in the reality engine when it comes to Cararra, either with materials or with rendering time and quality.
Hello!
I think it will bring only positive feedback to Carrara. One reason why Carrara is lacking more attention is availability of more rendering engine options. What is more, Lux renderer allows to build a render farm run by Linux OS that saves a lot of money to unneeded OS licensing. very good for small studios.
Lux has really active development and aim to speed up and improve quality, Lux has many advantages and upcoming features that I suppose won’t come to Carrara’s rendering engine anytime soon. So the more rendering engine options the better for Carrara. 3DS Max got so popular only because of available plug-ins and external rendering engines support, other than that during the days I was learning 3DS Max it dind;t had anything special to offer that would make it stand strong against other tools (this is my personal opinion of course).
It would be wise to support each project that can expand user base for Carrara and I believe with availability to integrate Lux rendering engine via Reality plug-in may open more good things to Carrara.
I would buy this if priced well, you can get photorealistic renders with skill in c8, but another render option would be great.
Also going back to another post on here it would be good for c8 very good indeed to be a fore runner in the market rather than can’t afford 3ds max or other hugely expensive softwares.
Saying that i love c8 and don’t regret my purchase choice at all……..soooooo yes make that plugin!!!!!!
