Attach vertex and spline objects
Started by Tomcrossman 9 years ago

Hi!

I'm doing a character that has a vertex head  / body, and spline eyes.  How do I attach the eyes so that they move with the head?

Thank you!

Hello,

I guess best way would be to have bones for the eyes and attach your eye objects to these bones. If the eyes are spline objects I think you can only parent them to the eye bones, if they were vertex objects, then you could attach them to the eye bones and weight paint.

You can see some turorials about rigging in Carrara here:

http://carraracafe.com/tag/rigging/

Warning: Adult content.

Character rigging basics are pretty much similar in majority of 3D software, It would be usefull to see how DAZ 3D figures were rigged as well as Makehuman also has some very advanced and good rigging solutions to learn from about bone placement and usage.

For advanced Carrara functions it is worth to see Faba's tutorials, she is one really talented rigger: http://www.sharecg.com/pf/full_uploads.php?pf_user_name=fabaone

Hope that helps
