I have not been on here in years, and during those years I have struggled for many years Trying to render out of Carrara 8.5 Pro on mac os 10.9.5 as a quicktime file. I could render maybe 30-45 frames then it would crash or freeze. YES I UNDERSTAND QT is 32 bit! I get that.
I have bitched and moaned on the DAZ forums for years. All I ever got back was SHUT UP! SIT DOWN! Get use to it. Get another PROGRAM where you can put together a sequentched rendering. WTF?
Then another frustrated MAC user told me he thought it had something do to with MAC os 10 wanting to go to sleep even when all the settings where set to NEVER. HE got an free APP from aple called CAFFEIENE.
I got CAFFEINE today and set it to ON and now I am rendering in full res frame QUICKTIME FILES.
So any of you use to render out as a QUCIKTIME render in Carrara on mac. NOW you can again.
Now WHY could not one person at DAZ figured that out? Casue they could give a damn
I always render to separate images, basically the computer can crash out at any time for any random reason (software, hardware, power issues) and you can always continue right after the last frame. As long as you have a decent video editor to add all the images to a video sequence and do the editing or just the video compression later, it is far better.
