Carrara Ocean
Started by bryanf a while ago

I'm looking for a comprehensive explanation of how to actually use the override time control setting on Carrara Ocean.  I have tried every setting variation I can think of to slow down the water movement without much luck other than it going at regular speed (which is really fast for my video) or completely stopping!  I'm tired of guessing, and the manual says nothing useful in terms of how to use it.  Like if I have a three second video what settings do I put it at to simulate normal wave motion and not huricane force winds or zero movement? Any help???

There is a thing to test…
You use a real footage of the surface of a lake with wind (I have a stock in my library).
You go in the shader room of the ocean and you apply this footage in the displacement map.
Notes that Carrara likes the uncompressed AVI, then it is necessary to convert your footage in a software which can do it (and you increase  the contrast at the same time).

...You can change the size of your ocean, by default it's 9,.. meters, if you put 100 meters, the waves looks smaler.
