Shader Problem
Started by Balloons a while ago

Hi everyone

Can anyone please help? Attached is a render showing a simple spline object in Carara 8.5 with a shader applied that uses two cylindrically wrapped rectangular layers positioned on the model at precisely 50% each. However where the seams join in the middle of the object, there appears a faint line of overlapped pixels from the top and bottom colours. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks

Can't tell from the image, but does the line go all the way around the object? And also, have you tried different shader setups, and if so, does the same thing occur?

Yes the line is all the way around. Different shader setups such as one layer on the whole object do not show a line, however it is necessary on some of our models to have this type of multi layer shader. Where one rectangular  layer is next to another.   Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

OK. Is it possible to make one of the shaders cover the entire object, and then apply a new layer that only covers half the object. I don't know if this is possible with your shader setup, but it might eliminate the line because of the underlying color of the first layer.

Thank you for looking into this but we have solved the issue! Using the highlighted section of the shader settings, it appears the Filtering and interpolate boxes need to be switched to Smapling and unchecked to give the crispest results. There still appears to be a very faint seam but it is much better and we can work with this.

Thaks again for all your help.
