This Read Me file contains important information that is not included in the documentation of the SDK. As we constantly update our products, be sure to check our web site for the latest information about Carrara at:
Contents:
1- Installation
The
installation
of the SDK is simple. You just need to decompress the zip file anywhere
on your disk and you are done.
2- Content:
The
Folder
of the SDK is divided in several folders :
- Build: The build scripts for the samples
- DemoExt: This is where the executable of the samples are stored once they are compiled.
- Doc: Contains an overview document
as well as a detailled reference of each class.
- Include: The header files necessary to compile a plugin for Carrara.
- Lib: The Libraries that you need to link with your plugin.
- Samples: Sample plugins
- Tools: Resource Editor (MCSketch) and other tools...
3- What's New
A number of changes have been made to the SDK for Carrara 4:
- New Documentation:
The Overview pdf has been updated and the reference manual has been
replaced with a class documentation that is much more detailled.
- New Samples: new
samples have been added: Terrain filter, Volumetric Effect and Lighting
Model (shader).
IMPORTANT: The version number
field of the 'COMP' resource has changed and now represents the version
of your component. Make sure it is set to 1 in your components.

the Carrara 4.
