Close to a new Carrara 8.5 beta update

DAZ 3D is close to another beta build for Carrara 8.5 and here is the list of changes since the last one.

    Does this beta install on a Mac? I tried installing the 8.5.0.172 and the launcher “disappears” after launching : never gets as far as install.

      I think so… all betas have the MacOs version also. But I remember you need the right version based in your OS version.

    Will there be an updated manual included when the finsal version of 8.5 is released.

    Everyone is waiting for it (since 2008 ) but no mention that it is being worked on

    To my knowledge DAZ3D was looking for an experienced person who could make the new manual. How successful they were is beyond what I know. However they are aware of the need for a new manual. I think they should get it there finally because Carrara 8.5 seems to look like a stable upgrade allowing to summarize what is new since 8 and 8.5 versions. Lets hope the new manual will come together with C8.5. But as many long time users stated, even Carrara 6 manual is still working out well to teach the main principle of 70% what Carrara 8 can offer and Carrara is really user friendly to let people discover things on their own. Because the main principle of Carrara is still there, to be easy to use 3D app. But if there won;t be any new manual, maybe we at Carrara Cafe will come up with something to compensate.

    Thanks Jetbird good to know Daz is aware of the need to update the manual !!!!
    I sympathise with Daz if they haven’t the manpower – well actually I dont . Lets be honest an awful lot of effort is going into new website,daz studio,genesis, and even Carrara. I know that there has been some re writing of the V6 manual and for the better ) and updates to make the carrar7 version but as I pointed out that was four years ago. Would it really be so difficult to issue some supplemnts on the new features of version 8 and the soon to be 8.5 ?

    I think the suggestion that 6 and 7 manuals cover 70% wears a bit thin because its the other 30% people want to be able to reference.And whilst there will always be a need for forum help Daz IMHO shouldnt be relying on it to fill the needs of a missing manual.

    From what you say at least we can live in hope but really Isnt it time to make it a must for the new Carrara release ?

    In the last 6 weeks or so, I have been trying out Carrara, using the C6 manual. It is so much better than what is available for the other 3 DAZ programs that it’s not funny. I think more emphasis should be placed on new manuals for all 4 products. Maybe when the store and forums are fixed.

    Maybe they could hire someone to just do the 30% of the information not covered in the C7 manual.

    As 0oseven said, the forums shouldn’t be used because the manual is missing.

    Hay, been ysing Daz stuff since Bryce was 1. sometin, why am I having such a hard time finding Carrara 8.5 Dec sereial.?

      Hello!

      Carrara 8.5 serial number is available for registered Carrara users. You should see it in your DAZ 3D account.
